All are welcome to dig daylilies from an original perennial propagation bed we are transitioning to a cut flower garden! $4 / daylily fan Registration in advance required. Please wear a mask. Cost: $4 / daylily fan, limit 20, BYO container, some will be provided if needed. Plant a piece of Vermont history in your garden! We are in the process of transitioning a daylily display garden into a cut flower garden and would like your help! All are welcome to join us and be part of our Daylily Dig Day and bring back this historic tradition at Horsford's. Before Horsford's sold perennials in pots, large swathes of the nursery were dedicated to propagation beds. Plants were grown with the intention to be dug up when customers arrived. As demand got higher, digging plants for each customer became too large of a task and these propagation beds turned into display gardens and new plant test sites. The Daylily and Phlox circle gardens on the property are an example of where propagation beds were located in the past. You are welcome to dig what you want. Some varieties will be pre-dug for your convenience. Digging forks will be provided. Horsford's is located in beautiful Charlotte, Vermont. Local gardeners have trusted us with growing for their landscapes since 1893.   The nursery is home to a full-service Garden Center that annually hosts educational events open to local communities.   Art in the Garden is a series of workshops hosted throughout our botanical gardens and led by local, independent artist instructors.
