Lexie abandoned by POS Owner

My husband and and I found this dog in our yard on 9/7 at ~11am. She was friendly, but obviously uncared for. Her fur was dirty, and it looked like she had been wandering for days. Her poor teeth were rotting, so when we offered her food, she couldn’t eat. She could drink water, thank God. She was chipped. My husband waited for 2 hours for the owner to show up and take back their dog. They pretended to care, then said they would arrive after their “Zoom call” was done, then stopped answering calls, then eventually turned their phone to voicemail. We gave our phone # to this supposed owner, through our vet, who had found he information in yet chip. Yet they never texted or called. It’s clear they never intended to be found. Because we have two dogs, we couldn’t take on another, but I am heartbroken that this poor dog was abandoned and we had to take her to the animal shelter. Whomever is the owner of Lexie: you are a garbage person. Your dog was so dirty it was unkind. She had rotting teeth, but she was very sweet and gentle. She is at the animal shelter, and I don’t know what will happen to her. I doubt your conscience, so I hope you NEVER take on another pet.
