PVD World Music celebrates the 2nd Annual African Film Festival on September 17 -18 , 2021 AFRICAN FILM AND MUSIC FESTIVAL FRIDAY AND SATURDAY!! Enjoy outdoor cinema and join the global village of the African Film Festival to celebrate films, filmmakers, and griots of traditional music and dance from Africa and the diaspora. PROVIDENCE, RI: PVD World Music’s African Film Festival returns for its second edition on Friday, September 17, and Saturday, September 19th, 2021 with a spotlight on the cinema from filmmakers from Africa and the African Diaspora. The festival will include African traditional music and dance performances. The festival will take place in outdoor theaters which will enable the audience to enjoy films safe from COVID-19 in the confines of their vehicles or outdoor sitting. PVD World Music' African Film Festival opening night celebration is Friday, September 17th at the WaterFire Art Center, 475 Valley Street, Providence, RI at 5:00 PM. The Festival continues on Saturday, September 18th screening is at the Southside Cultural Center of RI, 393 Broad Street, Providence, RI at 5:00 PM. PVD World Music African Film Festival is a celebration of the rich culture and creative heritage of people of African descent that call Rhode Island home. Additionally, the festival will be screened on outdoor projector screen and audio transmitter system, which will enable the audience to screen the films safe from covid-19 in the confines of their vehicles. This event is part of the mission of the PVD World Music to celebrate, promote and preserve traditional music and art of peoples of African Descendent here in Providence, RI.
