MAS MN and Dar Al-Farooq Masjid are hosting the 2021 Muslim Minnesota Convention Asalaamu Alikum, and welcome to the 2021 Minnesota Muslim Convention page! MAS MN and Dar Al-Farooq Masjid are hosting the 2021 Minnesota Muslim Convention to provide an event guided by a love of Allah (SWT), a love of His Deen, and deep care for the Muslim Ummah. We adopt an open and moderate understanding of Islam as the way forward. This convention aims to reorient our community during this unprecedented time of the COVID pandemic. The Islam that the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) demonstrated goes beyond the limited view of worship we see nowadays. Our ummah must be rooted in a balanced understanding of Islam that includes upholding faith, justice, and serving humanity. The convention will also focus on revitalizing the Islamic spirit in each of us. We achieve this by catering to the Muslim individual, the Muslim family, the Muslim community, and the society at large. This year’s theme, Returning to Our Roots: Upholding Faith and Serving Humanity, aims to answer the following questions: How expansive should our understanding of Islam be? What is the role of justice within Islam? What are our duties as Muslims towards every living being? Where are the lines of our culture and our deen, and how can we ensure we do not mistake the two? What does it mean to be a practicing Muslim? To answer all these questions and more, we have a fantastic lineup of nationally renowned speakers, engaging programs, a state-wide Quran competition, a vibrant and diverse bazaar, family-friendly entertainment, and more! May Allah make this convention both memorable and beneficial for both you and your loved ones.
