SHREWSBURY, MA — The Department of Public Works is holding a logo contest. Jeff Howland, director of the DPW, said the department was established in 2018 and is seeking a cohesive logo to represent the new department. The DPW encompasses the following departments and divisions: HighwayWater & SewerParks & RecreationEngineering & ConservationPublic buildingsSolid waste & recyclingWeights & MeasuresBusiness Management divisions DPW is holding the contest because "we believe reaching out to our own community would be a great outreach opportunity to strengthen our bond with our residents," Howland said. The contest is open to all high school-aged Shrewsbury residents regardless of where they attend school. "We are actively engaging our future generation to encourage relevance and interest in our work," Howland said. Designs must be submitted no later than Sept. 30. The winner will receive $500 and be acknowledged at a Board of Selectmen meeting.
