TAMPA, FL — The American Cancer Society announced TogetherHealth, part of Benefytt Technologies Inc., will be the presenting sponsor of this year's Tampa Golf Classic. The tournament, now in its third year, is raising funds for the American Cancer Society and all event-day donations will fund the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Hope Lodge in Tampa. In 2019, Hope Lodge in Tampa provided more than 500 cancer patients and caregivers with more than 12,000 nights of complimentary lodging and fellowship, while they received potentially lifesaving outpatient treatment at nearby facilities. "We are proud to support the American Cancer Society here in Southwest Florida," said Gavin Southwell, CEO of Benefytt Technologies. "The goal of the Hope Lodge to make cancer treatment more accessible aligns with our mission to provide access to and assistance to our customers in navigating the Medicare system. Together, we are supporting our community, where they are and when they need us." The third annual Tampa Golf Classic will take place on Nov. 1 at Avila Golf and Country Club. The tournament will feature celebrity golfers, contests and prizes, a chance auction, a cocktail reception, an awards ceremony, and tributes to cancer survivors and those we have lost to cancer. Every year, local celebrities participate in the Tampa Golf Classic to enhance the quality of life for patients with cancer and their families by supporting the American Cancer Society's programs, services and research.
