RESTON, VA — Fairfax Fire and Rescue responded Tuesday afternoon after receiving reports of smoke on the 16th floor of a Reston high-rise apartment building, according to a post on the department's official Twitter account. Fire personnel arrived shortly before 1 p.m. to the 1800 block of Saint Francis Street in Reston. An investigation determined the source of the smoke was caused by food on a stove. The fire was extinguished and emergency personnel assessed a person for injuries. Most of the units then returned to service, according to a 1:05 p.m. post on Twitter.
