Dear Milford Public Schools Families, The 2021-2022 school year has officially started and we are so grateful to have had such a successful opening. Thank you to all for working with us to ensure a safe and healthy opening with a focus on getting right to learning. In the weeks leading up to Opening Day, I shared with you our 2021-2022 school opening plans in the Milford Public Schools Back to School Plan, my Back to School Letter dated August 18 and the Back to School Webinar on August 24. The purpose of this letter today is to more specifically sharequarantine protocols that we will use as developed with the Milford Health Department (MHD) and in alignment with the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Similar to last year, when a positive case of COVID-19 or a possible exposure has been identifiedwithin and outside of our schools potentially impacting students and/or staff, we will be required to conduct contact tracing in order to identify possible close contacts. Close contacts will be required to quarantine unless they are fully vaccinated and asymptomatic. Vaccinated and asymptomatic students/staff will not need to quarantine provided they remainasymptomatic. Unvaccinated students/staff will need to quarantine for 10 days (with a negative test between days 8 and 10) or 14 days without a test. Proof of vaccination will be required to lift a quarantine directive. You can provide proof of yourchild's vaccination in two ways: ● Parents may voluntarily provide a copy of their child's COVID immunization card now byuploading it using our secure form here. This information will only be accessible by schoolnurses and school administration solely for the purpose of contact tracing and quarantining.Providing a copy of your child's vaccination card ahead of time will allow your child to beremoved from quarantine lists (as long as they are asymptomatic).● Similar to last year, we will ask for a copy of the immunization card at the time your child isidentified to quarantine. This will be included in the process of contact tracing and couldpossibly cause a delay in removal from the quarantine list. Students who do not provide a copy of their COVID immunization card will be required toquarantine according to CDC and DPH guidelines.
