NORTH BERGEN, NJ — A North Bergen grandmother and her 3-year-old grandson are now in stable condition after they were critically injured in a hit and run on Tonnelle Avenue late Friday night. The 56-year-old grandmother and her 3-year-old grandson, both from Queens, were hit by a car just after midnight on Saturday while they were crossing the street at Tonnele Avenue and 46th Street in North Bergen, said the Hudson County prosecutor. North Bergen Police responded to the area for reports of a pedestrian crash and found the woman and her grandson in critical condition, with life-threatening injuries. The vehicle that struck them had left the scene. The only description the prosecutor's office has of the car is that it is a mid-size sedan. It does not currently have a color. The woman and her grandson were rushed to Jersey City Medical Center where they are currently being treated for their injuries. When admitted, their injuries were considered critical and life-threatening, but they are now stable, said a spokesman for the Hudson County Prosecutor. The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office is now seeking the public's help in finding the driver who fled the scene. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the Hudson County Prosecutor's office Collision Unit at 201-915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip on the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office official website at: http://www.hudsoncountyprosecu...
