EAST HAVEN, CT — Early Tuesday morning, Patch reported that there were three East Haven Public School students who were reported by officials to have tested positive for COVID-19 before the Labor Day holiday weekend and on Labor Day. By days end Tuesday, that number had jumped to 7 positive cases with 36 in quarantine, according to the school district's tracker. The majority of those in quarantine are from Overbrook Early Learning Center, the pre-K and Kindergarten school and at James Melillo Middle School, 16 at Overbrook and 11 at JMMS. It's been predicted that the case rate will climb after the long weekend. From a Patch report, Dr. Scott Gottlieb, former commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and senior advisor to Gov. Ned Lamont's Reopen Connecticut Advisory Group told CNBC's "Squawk Box" that Connecticut and surrounding states are due for another jump in COVID-19 cases.
