LITTLETON, CO — A shelter-in-place has been lifted for Littleton residents in the Riverwalk neighborhood after a person was arrested, the city announced Tuesday evening.
Littleton police officers were called to the 2700 block of Riverwalk Circle around 12:50 p.m. after a report of a suspicious incident, city officials said.
The officers found that someone had barricaded themselves in a unit and a SWAT team was called to the area while law enforcement worked on de-escalating the situation, the city said.
The person was taken into custody around 6:30 p.m.
"The area is now open to residents and safe for those waiting to return to their home," the city said in an alert posted at 7:14 p.m.
"A police presence will remain in the area for the criminal investigation. We appreciate the cooperation of our community in ensuring all citizens stayed safe and allowed our officers to focus on the barricaded subject."
No further details about the nature of the incident were released.
