Press release from the University of Houston-Downtown: September 03, 2021 Dear UHD Community, The University of Houston-Downtown encourages everyone in the Gator community to become vaccinated against COVID-19, if possible. Vaccination may be the best way for you to protect yourself, your friends, your loved ones and your fellow Gators from COVID-19. If you have not been vaccinated, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with the pertinent information, consult with your doctor, and seriously consider being vaccinated. Should you decide to get vaccinated, vaccines are readily available at any of the sites located in our city. We are a community that cares, and to further encourage vaccinated Gators, the University is launching an exciting voluntary Gator Vaccination Incentive Program (VIP), effective immediately. All UHD Community members who have been vaccinated or become vaccinated can simply upload a photo of their vaccination cards to a designated Gator VIP registration link to participate. The program is open to students, faculty and staff. Gator VIP participants who register for this program between September 3 and Sept. 30, 2021 will receive $30 in GatorCash*. Some participants may also receive one of the following incentives: Students Student Debt Waiver (Up to $3,500)One Year of Free Tuition & FeesOne Semester of Free Tuition & FeesOne year of free parkingOne semester of free parking$100 Amazon Gift Card Faculty & Staff One year of free parkingOne semester of free parking$100 Restaurant Gift Card$100 Amazon Gift Card Details on how students and faculty & staff can participate are available at the Gator VIP website.
