Helping hands are needed at my urban homestead to clear brush so that a food forest and farm housing may be built to increase resilience within our community. This is an opportunity to get exercise, learn about growing food, and to connect with others in nature! I am a permaculturist and garden educator who recently moved back to Knoxville after 10 years of farming across the country. Looking to meet like-minded folks and get some help realizing a sustainable vision for my property. This project is in partnership with Project Foundations for Families, pf4f.org Volunteer hours will be from Wednesday through Saturday. Please respond to this email or call to schedule times. We will work with your availability. This is an unpaid opportunity and efforts are gratefully appreciated! Water, some tools, insect repellant, snacks, and plant fellowship and networking will be provided. A bathroom is available. Please wear long sleeves and pants, gloves and closed-toes work shoes to protect your body. Please bring loppers and pruners if you have them.
