LIVERMORE, CA — Firefighters battled a house fire and Altamont Pass grass fire Tuesday afternoon in Livermore. The California Highway Patrol briefly closed the leftmost lane of eastbound Interstate Highway 580 west of North Flynn Road as crews battled a mid-afternoon blaze. The road reopened in time for the evening commute. The house fire was reported around 2 p.m. and sparked in the 3900 block of California Way, according to smartphone app PulsePoint. The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department was on scene but could not immediately be reached to share more details about the fire. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
