TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa City Schools students, employees and visitors will be required to wear masks while indoors through Oct. 6 after the City Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday in favor of extending its face-covering mandate. "As much as we'd like to do longterm planning, this is a hard thing to do," he said. "The ability to look at this at small checkpoints along the way, I think is a good path and I appreciate the board's patience as we evaluate this regularly." As of Tuesday's update to the school system's online COVID-19 dashboard, 1.65% of TCS students are positive for the virus or in isolation due to coming in close contact with a positive case.
