Mon Valley Initiative works to improve the lives of people in the communities along the Monongahela River in Allegheny, Washington and Westmoreland counties by helping to rebuild community infrastructure. We do this by delivering quality services to the people of the Mon Valley, including housing counseling, real estate and community development and workforce development and financial coaching. Our custodian will be responsible, under the direction of the Senior Construction Manager, for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of common areas and outside exteriors in our rental properties. Responsibilities: Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors and shampooing rugs Perform routine maintenance tasks Organize custodial closets and spaces Maintain working condition of cleaning equipment Use of 5-to-6-foot ladder to clean interior and exterior windows Other duties as assigned ​Qualifications: Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or other related fields Ability to handle physical workload Strong attention to detail Strong organizational skills Strive to develop new skills while maintaining present skills Effective time management skills Position requires frequent standing, walking, verbal communications, including telephone contact, and travel between facilities Requirements: Willingness to travel throughout the Mon Valley (Homestead to Charleroi) Full-time access to a reliable vehicle Valid driver’s license Appropriate vehicle insurance Must attend Fair Housing training Education and/or Experience Related degree or comparable experience.
