Description

Baby green cheeks available now to responsible, knowledgeable and loving homes. Hand fed, abundance weaned onto Roudybush mini pellets and fresh veggies/fruit. AFA registered open steel ID bands. Hatched mid to late April, mom is yellow sided and dad is wild type. Not sexed. I raised these babies in a brooder in my bedroom and would have kept the entire clutch if their parents weren’t already laying again, so I will be picky as to who they go home with. If interested please email with basic info about you and your home, any pets you have and/or parrot experience, and anything else you feel is relevant. Their rehoming fee is not cheap nor is it negotiable, as you will spend more on an untamed bird-mill baby from petco and could easily spend more on an emergency vet visit. These are not pets for people who aren’t willing to spend money on them, nor will I make them vulnerable to “pet flipping” by undervaluing them. Green cheeks live 25-35 years with proper care, please understand the commitment involved before inquiring. They need attention and daily out of cage time, and I prefer homes where they would not be clipped unless absolutely necessary. They are coming into the bratty teenage phase and will nip if you try to pick them up against their will or interrupt their mischief, this is something conures are known for and their new owners will need to continue being consistent with redirecting them, using positive reinforcement and avoiding unknowingly rewarding bad behavior. I can help with this if needed by directing you to online resources, and you will have my contact info for any, and I mean ANY future issues - I don’t want these birds being rehomed due to developing bad habits like so many companion parrots are, they’re my babies and I want to see them live their best lives! I’m always available for advice, bird-sitting or anything else I can help with. Must bring your own carrier - a cat carrier with a perch stuck through the side or blanket in the bottom will work if you don’t have one for birds, but do not come with a cardboard box or you’ll leave empty handed. Their pellets can be purchased from some petco stores, or much cheaper at chewy.com (their delivery usually takes 3 days or so), and I can provide a small bag of pellets to take home if needed. They currently sleep in a happy hut so they will prefer a comfy sleeping spot rather than just a perch, please plan accordingly. If this sounds like too much hassle for a bird then these are definitely not for you, get a cat, and if you can provide a lifelong loving home for my babies please email for more info! Thanks for reading :)
