Description
I'm a bassist new to the Boston area looking to start/join a band who want to:
* Rehearse/jam together as an outlet, something to get out of the real world for a couple hours a week
* Find a monthy gig at a bar or event, just to scratch the itch of live playing and get some friends together
* Take on the challenge of tastefully representing cover songs to a really high level
* Not just play the hits that everyone knows, but also some deep cuts that we can really have fun with
* Write some originals, if we're inspired!
I'm in my 30s, working full-time, so I'm not looking for this to be a heavy commitment or a music career. BUT... it's important that we do a solid job with the songs. The joy for me comes from doing it well and playing live.
There's a pretty wide range of music that I'd be happy to play, depending on what y'all are into:
90s Rock
00s Rock
Motown
Country
Classic Rock
Jazz
Shoegaze
Synthpop
...not much into Metal or Industrial though. I love a good Prog Rock jam but let's be honest, not many bars will book 90 minutes of it. We can toss a Rush riff into the end of a Taylor Swift song for fun.
I've been playing for about 20 years and have gigged with a couple rock bands, a big band jazz ensemble, and love to hop on stage for a song or two when I'm down in Nashville.
Let's grab a beer, share Spotify playlists, and see where we end up!
