Bass Player Wanting To Learn Jazz With Others

I am a 38 year old bass player living in Vancouver. I have been playing since I was young but I never learned jazz. I would like to meet other musicians (any age/instrument) who would like to learn together. I really love funk/jazz fusion style music that really grooves but I can’t hang at that level yet so I would like build a jazz foundation. I am a good bassist but jazz is a whole new language so I would like to find people who are new to it too (or at least very patient). There are a ton of play along tracks/books out there. We could pick a tune to work on and then get together every week or two to jam on them and then talk through what we learned, and what did/didn’t work. It would be cool to eventually be able to go to a jazz jam when things open up more. I am fully vaccinated. Would prefer you be also. Please reach out if this sounds interesting.
