The Traffic Control Specialist is responsible for the proper setup of traffic control devices a work location in accordance with state law and approved traffic control plans. Further, the specialist has excellent knowledge and experience of effective flagging operations to keep work crews safe. The Traffic Control Specialist will report directly to the team leader for the assigned job. This position will require frequently travel throughout Northern California with a company vehicle available in some circumstances. Paid hotel room and per-diem for travel. Responsibilities: • Work directly with the assigned team leader to ensure proper traffic control is in place prior to work starting. • Accurately read and understand traffic control plans and implement plans in their absence. • Ensure pre-shift daily vehicle inspection is performed on any company vehicle driven. • Can communicate well with the public while performing flagging operations. • Maintain professional relationships with third parties and vendors. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements: • Drug free. • Valid Flagger Certificate or ability to obtain one. • Clean and valid DMV record. • Excellent verbal, written communication skills and computer skills. • Solid organizational skills • Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task. Pluses include: • Valid Commercial Driver’s License. • Experience in vactor/jetting. • Experience with push-camera operations. • Prior plumbing experience. • Prior traffic control experience. • NASSCO Certification. • 10 hour OSHA certificate.
