Local 3rd generation family-owned tree service looking for a reliable, long term, chip truck driver/groundman. Pay DOE. Must be available Monday through Friday. We work some Saturdays; attendance is voluntary but appreciated. Most national holidays are scheduled days off. Personal time off requests must be made by employee two weeks in advance, obviously this does not apply to emergency situations. The crew meets at the shop in Burlington at 7am daily and are generally back to the shop between 3 and 5pm. All breaks are paid by company. Company covers all L&I expenses. After a 2-month probationary period, employees are eligible for health insurance. Vacation and sick days also start accruing at that time based on hourly attendance. Company will match a set percentage of Simple IRA after 2 years of employment. Individual must be at least 20 years of age with a clean driving record, CDL desirable but not required. Must wear appropriate PPE, which is supplied by the company. They must be comfortable driving a large vehicle that tows a chipper behind it daily. Must be able to leave the jobsite and dump chips, either independently or with the help of another employee, at designated areas throughout the day; this requires backing into odd areas on many occasions. Prospective crew members must be able to lift at least 50lbs and will be required to work alongside the rest of the crew while roping lengths and rounds, chipping brush, cutting/moving firewood rounds, and cleaning up debris at jobsites. Climbing, saw, power pruner, and hedge trimming experience/knowledge desirable. We run two buckets and welcome any new prospects to learn to do bucket work. Knot tying techniques will be taught as needed. If interested in the position, please send a resume or letter of intent with contact information and a list of applicable skills you possess.
