Position: Pumpout Boat Operator About the position: Pumpout Seattle is the fastests growing mobile pump out company operating in King County. Headquartered in Ballard, the company currently operates 2 vessels servicing Lake Washington, Portage Bay, Lake Union, The Ship Canal, Shilshole Bay Marina and Duwamish River marinas. We are currently looking for an experienced vessel operator with a passion for protecting the environment and servicing the maritime community. This candidate will be responsible for safely maneuvering a 23’ foot vessel with a single 200HP outboard motor throughout various marinas while making frequent stops to pump out customer’s black water holding tanks. At times his can be a physically demanding position. Candidates will need to frequently step in and out of the vessel, climb on other vessels to access deck fittings, and carry heavy hoses on docks. This is an hourly part time position paying $20-$25 (DOE) with an opportunity to become full time. Paid training will be provided. TO APPLY TO THIS POSITION: No Resume required, but welcomed. Responsibilities and duties: Safely operate vessels in close quarters situations in varying environmental conditions. Pump multiple blackwater tanks each shift on vessels of varying sizes, some with challenging access. Assist with cleaning and maintaining vessels and associated equipment such as pumps and outboards. Provide a high standard of customer service while representing the company with a professional appearance and a positive attitude. Maintain situational awareness while multitasking to prevent injury or damage and contribute to overall safety on the water. Preferred Skills and Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience operating inboard/outboard vessels Experience operating in open waters Knowledge of general boat systems Ability to troubleshoot and make simple repairs to small engines and sanitary systems Requirements: Ability to work in extreme weather conditions Able to lift 50lbs and regularly climb stairs/ladders while carrying 25lbs Washington State Boater Education Card 18 years of age Legally eligible to work in the United States
