My bad pet "parent" neighbor's have finally given me permission to rehome their puppy! Thank God! I have been fostering, training, rehabilitating and rehoming for YEARS for this family unfortunately! I'm a dog trainer and have been in foster/rehab/boarding since I was a teenager but this family has kept me on my toes! This pup "Patches" is about 12-14 weeks old. She is super sweet and eager to learn! She has had no vet care to my knowledge. They said she got distemper/parvo shot 2 weeks ago. So she'll need boosters. (They literally assumed it protected against worms, fleas and ticks smh) So she was never dewormed and has never had any flea/tick preventative. So obviously she needs to be fully vetted, dewormed, flea/tick preventative, heartworm and common parasite preventative and spayed! The owner STUPIDLY paid $400 for this dog without any papers smh. He wants me to give him at least $250 for her. I will be making NOTHING! I just want her in a safe home who has the capacity and knowledge to make this baby a proper member of their family! And who is prepared to meet all her physical and mental needs. Such as exercise, training, proper diet, vet care etc. Imo rehoming fee is negotiable. I realize $250 is a lot for a dog with NO prior medical care, deworming and flea/tick care. She does come with a bit of training as I've been working with her to teach her sit, down and place so far. We are just beginning with leash walking. Still learning down and place but her sit is GREAT! oh and she's getting better with stays! I have her in my care for the weekend so will be working with her a lot and will bath her in dawn and trim her nails and comb all the fleas out I can! As far as the fee goes just reach out to me to discuss. I would be willing to see if he will take less to deduct some for dewormer and flea/tick preventative costs. The owner is unpredictable and I'm afraid he may come home Monday and change his mind or sell to another unfit owner! So I'm hoping to rehome her ASAP!!! Thanks for any help you can give!
