We are looking for a facilities technician for a full time position, Tuesday through Saturday, 8 am to 4 pm. Responsibilities: Respond and attend to resident work orders Communicate with residents to resolve maintenance issues Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines Carry equipment (e.g., tools, radio) Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed Communicate to supervisor using approved communication programs and standards Display ability to read standard plans concerning plumbing and HVAC Display strong general mechanical ability Display proficiency in following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills Display solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks Safely perform repairs of the physical property, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment, and pool heaters Able to perform work in a safe manner in compliance with OSHA Troubleshoot and perform maintenance and repairs on different types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners, replace electrical switches and outlets Display ability to perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds when supervisor is unavailable Will need to be occasionally scheduled for on-call duties Assist with porter work when needed, i.e. basic cleaning, trash runs, pool cleaning Insurance: Health, dental, vision available after probationary period
