Description
In Prescott things are getting more expensive every day - and the pay rate for most employees is not increasing to help meet these increases.
Some of us are fortunate that we are able to demand a decent pay rate from our employers and employers are willing to pay, but sometimes even $16 or $18 an hour isn't enough because some of us lost our jobs during the Wuhan virus, month of no income set many of us back, and of course of how expensive things are getting in the city of Prescott.
Many in Prescott are still earning a minimum wage and this makes it difficult to afford leaving in Prescott, and the gas prices are only going up, so driving from Chino Valley to Prescott almost makes it not worth looking for a job in Prescott.
Businesses in Prescott are reducing hours, closing early, or not opening at all at times and they claim people don't want to work - however many of us are willing to do the jobs but not for minimum wage. In fact, businesses hire people at $12 an hour and they get their $12 dollars worth of work.
Employers will eventually get the point. Pay a good, decent, livable wage and YOU will get good, decent workers -
But many won't even consider this.
Sad.
