Penelope Popcorn (Penny) is in need of a new home after her mom had a devastating health issue that has made her realize she's not able to give Penny the life she deserves. Penelope is housebroken & harness trained. Penelope is a smart lady who knows: come, turn, freeze, sit, lay down, & hide and seek. She's spayed & current on vet care. Penny was terrific with children when the kids in the home were young. She hasn’t been around kids for quite awhile, so she currently feels a bit threatened when little children come running at her. A slow, gentle introduction & always having adult supervision around kids would be best. Penny also hasn't lives with other animals, although she's usually fine, she has also responded aggressively/defensive on occasion as well. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) She had been though many changes in her life and adjusts quite well. Transportation is available to her new home anywhere in the lower 48. Penny LOVES being in the sun (indoors or outdoors), hates water (except to drink), loves solving puzzles for treats, discovering outside, is scared of the vacuum, loves her electric blanket, and does quite a few tricks. Penny is quite content most of the day to just lay around, meander outside a bit, and follow me around the house or snuggle up. But she can get bored/mischievous if she’s not given enough attention or given something to do often enough. She doesn’t get on furniture and is very sweet and loyal to her “peeps”. She’s not been around small children in a while, she also doesn’t have other animals living with us, but I think she could easily adapt. She can get grumpy with visitors, and new situations, but she always comes around and is truly such a sweetheart. Another unique part of having Penny as a member of the family is that she is somewhat famous (at least she was for a bit). Her Instagram account went viral several years ago, and she was featured in the Instagram pet calendar 3 years in a row. It’s not been active for several years, but there’s still around 30K followers.
