ISO small senior dog

Im looking for a small senior or older dog. I don’t have a lot of money to offer but I’d love to help out a senior in need. I had an old mini dachshund that I had for 12 years, but she sadly passed away from age and health issues. I work from home and it’s only three people living in the home, no other pets but the pooch must get along with children. My husband told me it would be ok to bring in a senior dog, preferably small. I’m looking at fosters and shelters as well, but I’m hoping to find that perfect pet who just wants to live out the rest of its days like a queen or king ❤️ If you have any information please let me know.
