We are a well-established metals distributor in Portland, Oregon seeking saw operator trainees for our cutting department. Details are below. Job Type Full-time Shift Day, Swift, Graveyard Hours 5 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (day) 1 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. (swing) 9 p.m. - 5:30 a.m. (graveyard) Monday through Friday Starting Salary $33,280 annually ($16.00/hr) for day and swing shifts $35,360 annually ($17.00/hr) for graveyard shift Benefits Full medical, dental, and vision plans begin the first of the month after 60 days of employment. 401(k) plans begin the first of the month after six months of employment. Vacation accrual begins after six months of employment. Qualities Required Self-starter Strong math skills Reliability Experience Required Forklift driving Capable of converting decimals to fractions and vice versa Capable of reading calipers and micrometers Duties This is a trainee position learning how to operate non-ferrous saws, understand quality requirements, and acquire the math skills which will allow you to determine specific yields. Training Hands-on training with an experienced operator or team leader for a minimum of two to four weeks.
