We have the following Birdlink Sanctuary, Inc. residents available for adoption in San Antonio. Please do your research about the different bird species prior to inquiring. All birds bite, they can be destructive at times, messy, and loud. These birds are pets; they will not be adopted out to breeders or for any other intended purpose other than to be companion parrots. Additionally, bird maintenance and upkeep isn’t cheap. Interested adopters must have the financial resources to provide for the bird. All adoptions will take place in person. Adoption fees do not include cages, and all birds have had a wellness exam, and been disease tested. Paco & Rosie-They are white bellied caiques between the ages of 20-30. They are quirky, fun, and energetic little acrobats. They both step up and can be handled. They whistle the Andy Griffith song. Rosie is super sweet and affectionate. Paco on the other hand is a little feisty. Rosie would do great with a male or female handler. Paco on the other hand, needs a male handler who is patient and willing to work with him. They will not be adopted out together. Boo-White Capped Pionus-21 years old. Cage territorial, however once out of cage, easy to handle. Steps up, likes to sit on your shoulder, and once comfortable talks and says “Good Morning, Pretty Bird, I love you.” Will need some work with pets as he is still not comfortable receiving them. Can be handled by both men and women. Micki-11 year old double yellow headed amazon. Talks, steps up, enjoys the occasional pet, however can be cage territorial. Very picky on who he likes. Absolutely dislikes men. Will attack, fly at, and run after them. Female handler only-NO EXCEPTIONS. Henry-at least 25 year old Severe Macaw. Has his good days and bad days. Very cage territorial however once out of cage, he’s a little more relaxed. He steps up and will allow head scratches, talks. Can be handled by men or women. Rai Rai-3 year old Green Cheek Conure. Super sweet and loving little fella. Steps up, gives kisses, loves shoulders. Would be great for anybody. Skittles & Gin Gin-Sun & Jenday Conure. At least 15 years old. Super sweet, super affectionate pair. Step up, love shoulder rides, give kisses. They can be handled by both men and women. The jenday is quite the noisy little fella. These will not be good apartment birds. They must be adopted out together-NO EXCEPTIONS.
