See Facebook Event Here: https://fb.me/e/10t00KcTC We spent the last year taking to the streets fighting back against oppression, but we’re back to evictions, unsafe working conditions, debt, and well-funded police departments now that the presidential election is past. We need a way forward that deals with the root of our problems. Every alternative supports the interests of a class, so what happens when none of the alternatives directly deal with class? The alternatives that rise to the top are those that support the dominant class, such as openly fascist alternatives like MAGA, easily co-opted alternatives like individual lifestyle change, and “woke” populist alternatives that fail to deal with class in a way that doesn’t further empower capitalists. We need a long-term strategy to empower the people instead of the capitalists. Let’s discuss what it means to organize based on class interests and levels of unity. Masks are required for this event and all attendees are required to attest they have not had COVID-19 symptoms; all attendees should do a temperature check before proceeding to the venue.
