A one-day workshop for BIPOC veteran teachers, administrators, those aspiring leadership, veteran Martinez fellows, & white leaders.
The Network for EdWork brings together educators of color and leaders in education — providing them with a community to help create and sustain more inclusive and equitable schools. Guests will participate in a guided workshop exploring the application of Liberation Pedagogy in leadership and learn about two new programs, Education EnCounter and Ally Engagement.
Education EnCounter supports advanced BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) career educators and BIPOC leaders in school, district, and higher education leadership positions that are committed to work toward dismantling unjust practices and structures in educational settings. At the Leadership L[a]unch, BIPOC educators and leaders will be able to explore liberatory practices in a safe and affirming affinity space.
Ally Engagement provides learning opportunities for white leaders in school, district, and higher education who want to transform their education environments to be more antiracist, relevant, and responsive to BIPOC teachers and leaders. At the Leadership L[a]unch, white leaders will be able to embark on their journey to redefine how they can create and sustain more inclusive environments and confront oppressive systems at their institutions.
The L[a]unch will also feature a catered lunch and opportunity to network.
Technology Access Foundation (TAF) is a nonprofit, on-the-ground leader in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. We use STEM as a tool for realizing change and educational equity in communities of color and low-income neighborhoods. Ultimately, we aim to equip students of color in college and life through the power of an interdisciplinary STEM education and supportive relationships.
