Sam (founder of Pottery with a Purpose) and Laura (founder of Laura Ahrens Yoga) are teaming up to bring you three of their favorite things at once: pottery, practice, and the park. This combination packs a peaceful punch by combining creativity, concentration, and community, all while in nature soaking in the very last drops of summer on the first day of fall. Plus, you get a functional fruit of your labor. PWaP uses locally-sourced clay and tools handmade in the USA, naturally-based paints, and eco-conscious packaging. Plus, your purchase gives back to mental health oriented organizations. Sam will bring you through all the basic pottery techniques, tips, and tricks to teach you to make a creation that you can bring home once it's glazed and fired. Why yoga practice? The concentration of one's yoga practice leaves the mind available to be led by the imagination, rather than by the regular old restless thoughts, leaving room for more clarity and creativity. Includes: - Pranayama and meditation class with Laura - Pottery workshop led by PWaP founder Sam - Everything needed to sculpt + decorate your piece of pottery - Glazing + kiln firing your creation at the PWaP HQ (Sam will take care of that!) - Shipping— your creation will arrive on your doorstep a few days after it’s out of the kiln. - Free parking next to the workshop site at Larz Anderson Park. The day before the workshop you will receive further logistical instructions to your inbox.
