Description

This is a stunning and recently untouched stretch of coastline in Hampton. There are conch to be found and a great view of the Bay. The round trip here is 8-miles through 97% sand and is challenging. Two and a half to three hours is the norm. We will stop for a few minutes at the end of the sandbar. The Back River Lighthouse once stood here. This beacon is noted for a murder mystery in the 1930s. Click Here to learn more (http://annsdustjacket.com/dbrl.htm) The lighthouse and the Grandview Ballroom were taken out by hurricane Flossy in 1956. Read the story...
