Join us for our season opener at Corner Canyon High School in Draper as we feature the final winner of our 17th Annual Concerto Showcase Com Our 2021-2022 season opener features music by composers who each have connections to the city of Paris, France. The concert will feature: Overture in F minor, Op. 1 — Juan Cristósomo Arriaga Suite in D major, Op. 49 — Camille Saint-Saëns Piano Concerto No. 2, Op. 21, Mvt. 1 — Frédéric Chopin (Concerto winner: Cindy Lu, piano)   We are a community orchestra dedicated to bringing great music to Utah and Salt Lake counties. From classical masterworks to movie themed music, we want to provide a positive environment for musicians to play together and audiences to connect. Through patriotic and civic celebrations, cultural arts festivals, and side-by-side concerts, the orchestra gives performances in four to six municipalities each season.   The crown jewel of the Utah Philharmonic Orchestra is the annual concerto competition. This is the only state-wide competition open to all ages and all instruments. The competition is held in February and the winners from each age category perform as soloists at the final season concert.
