Session #1: This will include a discussion by county leaders from 9:40 to 10:30 a.m. on current programs being offered to incentivize safe, affordable housing. A chance to visit the site where up to 10 emergency shelter houses are being built by the McPherson Housing Coalition. Track #2 - Housing Stability - Understanding the challenges of securing safe, affordable housing. Excellent for social service providers. Session #1 - 9:40 - 10:30 a.m. - Sherrie Rickerson, McPherson Coach with STEPMC, will be joined by graduates and monthly leaders of the program to share what they have experienced first hand regarding poverty. 20 minute Break - Booths, Snacks Session #2 - 10:50 - 11:40 a.m. - Panel discussion - Nonprofits helping break the cycle of housing instability. McPherson Housing CoalitionMt. Hope SanctuaryOmega HouseSafehope STEPMC11:50 a.m. - Lunch & Keynote Address - Ryan Vincent, Executive Director, Kansas Housing Resources Corporation Session #3 - Trauma & Children 1:25 - 2:15 p.m. Pastor Laura and Levi Smith will be discussig the work they have done through St. Francis and the foster care system. Session #4 - Where Do We Go From Here? 2:35 - 3:25 p.m. Chris Goodson and Karolyn Moore will try to look ahead at some solutions for the issues we have discussed during the day.
