One of L.A.’s most prominent Jazz enthusiasts is known as “The Gentleman of Jazz". He is James Janisse. A former on-air personality with radio station KKJZ 88.1FM (formerly KLON) from 1992 to 2006. His wide-ranging knowledge of Jazz filled the longest continuing shift on KKJZ each weekday night. He continues to be the voice of Jazz on selected United Airlines Flights. He is currently the host & producer of “The Wonderful World of Jazz” playing the finest in straight ahead Jazz & Blues music on www.kjmjradio.com. He operates the radio station and it broadcasts 24 hours a day 7 days a week. He is also a control board operator, Program Host, and staff announcer at KCRW 89.9FM. He is a gifted voice/over actor and stage performer heard on radio & television commercials. Lately, James has been singing professionally around L.A. Pasadena and Valley Glen at The World Stage, The Kingston Café and Barone's Restaurant. His smooth voice and charming personality are often at the forefront of events related to Jazz, The Blues, Gospel, Rhythm & Blues and Poetry all across Southern California.
