Ride in style on one of our restored Illinois Central dining cars as you enjoy a delicious three-course dinner and enjoy the fall scenery
On Saturday, October 2, join us for a unique and new dining experience on board The Fall Sunset Dinner Train! This dinner and approximately two-hour train ride includes a three course meal on one of our restored Illinois Central dining cars, prepared by Holly's Country Kitchen of Monticello. Departure will be at 6:00 PM from the Wabash Depot in downtown Monticello.
Ride in style as you enjoy one of the following entrée options, a Herb Crusted Tenderloin (gluten free), Pecan Chicken, or Primavera Pasta. Other menu items will include Zuppa Toscano Soup, Green Beans, Scalloped Potatoes, Dinner Rolls, and your choice of homemade pie for dessert! Beverages available onboard will include Tea (sweet or unsweet), Honey tea, Lemonade, and Water.
The ticket price for this event is $60 per passenger. Please note that due to capacity constraints of the dining cars, parties of less than four may be seated onboard with passengers not necessarily from their party.
The Monticello Railway Museum is an all-volunteer organization in central Illinois with a 7½ mile long operating railroad line, and a railroad yard open to the public.
We offer train rides on weekends from May through October (rain or shine), and we offer a number of special events throughout the year.
We also collect, preserve, interpret, and exhibit materials and artifacts from throughout the fascinating history of trains and railroading. Come explore our many rail cars and other equipment, and view our museum displays.
