A free introduction for families with children 4-15 yrs to try BMX Racing, in advance of our Fall Beginner League season, starting Sept. 26. Come on out to The Hill BMX on Sunday, September 19 from 3:00PM-4:30PM, for a FREE open house, especially for beginning riders and their families. During the 90-minute event, your rider will get some basic instruction on BMX Racing and ride the track, under the supervision of our League coaches and volunteers. Parents will learn about how the League is structured, and have an opportunity to sign up. The Beginners-only Fall 2020 League season starts Sunday, September 26 (3:00PM-5:30PM), and runs on the following schedule: September 26, October 3, 10, 17, 24. The Open House is the perfect opportunity to learn about the sport, and get in on an activity that is all-about fun, fitness and family. Open to boys and girls 4-15 years, and moms, dads and grandparents of riders. A “Beginner” is someone who has never raced BMX outside of the League program. Here’s a rundown of how the day will be structured: For Riders - A “roll-around” on our dirt track, supervised by our league coach and on-track volunteers, giving them some hands-on fun on a bike. For Parents - A “walk-around” of the facility and the various “stations” of the BMX track (moto boards, pre-staging area, staging chutes, starting gate and the track, itself). Then a briefing on how the League format works. For the Whole Family -A welcome message from the The Hill BMX League staff. -Firsthand stories from BMX families on what the sport of BMX Racing has done for them. -Group and personal Q&A time to answer all your questions. What to Bring/What to Wear for Riders - Long pants, long sleeves, athletic shoes - A bike without reflectors, chain guard and/or pegs. (A limited supply of free loaners are available) - A helmet (a limited supply of free loaners available) **IMPORTANT** Riders must be able to ride a pedal bike without training wheels to participate.
