Learn the basic skills for providing close protection for at-risk clients. This three- day introductory course is designed for the security professional who wants to learn the basic skills for providing close protection. This course will provide participants with the primary concepts of executive protection operations to include threat assessments, operational planning, conducting the security advance, and safeguarding clients during arrivals and departures. With a growing demand for trained executive protection professionals in Middle Tennessee, this course is a must for licensed armed and unarmed security officers and supervisors, house of worship security volunteers, and law enforcement officers. Course Topics:  Basic principles of providing close protection  Required equipment for conducting protective operations  Assessing and validating perceived threats to the client  Operational planning  Conducting route and site surveys  Protective formations  Immediate action procedures  Force-on-force/response exercises Inclusive  All protective/safety equipment  Inert weapons and holsters  Route and site survey worksheets Instructor This course will be taught by Michael Mann, CPP®, PSP® owner of Michael Mann Security Services. Michael is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, civilian law enforcement, and the private protection industry. For the past 20 years Michael has designed complex physical protection and antiterrorism programs for nuclear fuel fabrication facilities, high-risk chemical facilities, data centers, corporate headquarters, private Christian schools, and houses of worship. Michael has also provided close protection operations for corporate leaders, faith leaders, Hollywood A-listers, and major record label owners/leaders. Michael has Master of Science (MS) and Bachelor of Science Degree in Security Management; a Certificate in Terrorism Studies from the Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence, University of St. Andrews and he studied terrorism at Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel. Michael is a 32- year student, practitioner and teacher of modern pistolcraft and self- defense; an educator and adjunct staff member for a large university assigned to teach courses in criminal justice, homeland security and counterterrorism; and he has successfully completed training in close protection from the Executive Protection Institute (EPI), Executive Security International (ESI), RL Oatman and Associates, the U.S. DHS Protective Security Operations Training Program at Ft. Benning, The U.S. Marine Corps, and Vehicle Dynamics Institute (VDI).
