Join us to learn more about how this will connect Western Mecklenburg & Southeastern Gaston counties The Catawba Crossings Feasibility Study is evaluating a new alignment roadway between NC 279 (S. New Hope Road) in southeastern Gaston County to NC 160 (Steele Creek Road) in western Mecklenburg County. The Project includes two new bridges over the South Fork Catawba River and Catawba River (Lake Wylie) and would interchange with I-485 near the West Boulevard interchange. The Project is an important component of the region’s future transportation system.
