HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A pedestrian was seriously injured in a car crash in Huntington Station early Sunday, Suffolk police said.
A 64-year-old Brooklyn man was driving a 2017 Toyota Highlander northbound on New York Avenue, just north of East 12th Street, when his vehicle struck a male pedestrian who stepped into the road around 2:30 a.m., police said.
The pedestrian, who has yet to be identified by police, was brought to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The Toyota driver was not injured, police said.
The Toyota was impounded for a safety check.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the pedestrian's identity or the crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
