Description
My name is Thein Win and I am 38 years old. I have kidney disease and I am in dire need of a kidney transplant. I was born with small kidneys and was diagnosed with hypertension and chronic kidney disease in 2014. I am currently on dialysis and have been since 2017; where I go 3 times a week, for 3.5 hours of treatment. The dialysis machine is my life-line.
Being on dialysis is no way to live. I am very fatigued, get headaches, suffer from excruciating leg cramps, I am nauseous, have shortness of breath and have trouble sleeping. I have fluid and diet restrictions which are extremely difficult to maintain. I am a caregiver for my elderly parents who are also struggling with health issues. This disease is crippling my chance of continuing my studies and any opportunities to carry on any sort of normal lifestyle.
A kidney transplant, especially from a living donor, would be a huge turning point in my life as it will give me my of life back. It would give me the energy and strength I need which I don’t have now; to care for my family and enable me to continue studying for my GED certificate and my future college degree in the Healthcare Industry. I just want to help others and make a difference in the world and in my families life.
Will you please be my hero?
If you or someone you know will consider getting tested and saving my life please contact University Hospital in Cleveland, living donor line at

Not All Heroes Wear Capes!

Thein Win.
