Boulder Doggie Adventures & Pet Sitting is hiring experienced and reliable dog walkers and pet visitors for jobs in the City of Boulder. (This is not a dog hiking/adventure leader position.) This position requires at a minimum, availability during the hours of 9:00am - 2:00 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Note that the amount of work varies and you won't necessarily be working all of those hours every day. This position involves conducting 15, 30 and 60 minute in-home dog walking/pet sitting visits for dogs and cats. Dog Walker/Pet Visitor duties include: Driving to/from client homes in the City of Boulder for 15, 60 or 30 minute dog walking/pet sitting visits. These visits can include: Taking dogs on neighborhood leash walks in all weather conditions, feeding, administering medication, scooping litter boxes, collecting/disposing of all dog waste, cleaning up pet-related messes, providing occasional light home care such as collecting mail, moving trash bins to curb, watering plants, etc, and completing a post-visit report for the client on our mobile app. The applicant must love animals of all species/breeds/ages/sizes and use only positive reinforcement training methods. General Accountabilities • Drives to/from clients' homes in the City of Boulder to care for pets. • Walks dogs on leash in the client's neighborhood. • Refers to mobile app data and client notes to learn needs of each pet. • Walks and exercises dogs for agreed upon length of time in various weather conditions. • Reinforces good manners and any training skills that are already in place. • Picks up dog waste and disposes of it properly. • Scoops cat litter boxes and disposes of waste properly. • Documents visit details communicating relevant info and takes photos via our mobile app system. • Ensures the pets always have plenty of water. • Conducts a brief check of the premises at pick up and drop off. • Cleans up any pet related messes that may have occurred in the home. • Feeds and administers medication to pets when needed/requested. • Uses only positive reinforcement training methods. • Completes any other specifically requested home care such as vacuuming, watering plants, taking out trash cans, etc. Job Qualifications • Able to make at least a six month commitment of at least three weekdays between 9am-2pm. • Experience: Caring for other people's pets in their homes. • Passes a criminal background check. • Passes a reference check (paid for by us) • Completes K9 First Aid/CPR course (paid for by us) • Completes our online and hands on training. • Has a reliable vehicle and smart phone.
