I’m a sober, vaccinated (these are the times we live in), West Asheville drummer with 18 years playing experience looking to either join a working band or start something up with capable, hard-working musicians who are serious about their craft and take pride in their art. I’m not hell bent on playing one particular genre, but would certainly prefer something I can improv and roam on, if that makes sense. If you’re looking for a lifeless cog to live in dusty 4/4 for 3-4 minutes/song, you got the wrong guy. I own a house in town where I’m able to rehearse/host practices any night of the week. I’ve been living here since 2014, and have gigged and toured extensively with several bands. Currently, I play with a mathy psych/indie/emo adjacent band, Shutterings. If you want to hear that work, go to our Bandcamp or Spotify. My playing is fairly versatile, although I thrive in heavier, more complex, progressive settings musically. (Polyrhythms and double bass are my closest friends.) I’ve posted tons of videos of my playing to a metronome and sort of free jamming on my Instagram (@christheburger). Some of my influences drum wise—Tool, Porcupine Tree, The Pineapple Thief, Periphery, Animals as Leaders, Opeth, Circa Survive, The Contortionist, Coheed and Cambria, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. etc. Thanks for reading.
