Large stage at nightclub hosting "open mic" sessions, Monday's 7PM - 1:30 AM. Percussionists get the first hour - 7PM to 8PM or so... To go down the river... and create new percussion oriented music. This is for experienced drummers who want to explore the softer side of the beat. (At least, until things get out of control.) Guitarists will show up and this will turn into a rock and roll jam, after 9PM or so. There will be a marimba onstage and drummers/percussionists are invited to bring smaller hand drums and noisemakers, to help create the sonic space. This is not a freekin' drum circle - subtlety, and sonic awareness is encouraged. Mickey Hart is the percussionist for the Grateful Dead, we are looking for an unusual sound.
