Description
Jesus had church in a believer’s house in Luke 5: 19. The promised gift of the Holy Spirit was first ushered in from the upper room of a believer’s home in Acts 2: 2. Paul the apostle had church in his house in Acts 28: 30-31. When Paul wrote letters to the other house churches; he addressed them in his letters “to the church in thy house” according to Romans 16: 5 and Philemon 2. That was the New Testament model of where believers assembled together as a church. Jesus also stated in Matthew 18: 20 that “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” So just two believers can be a church.
