There are some simple-minded folk who simply fail to grasp the importance of wearing face coverings during the pandemic. For the benefit of the local anti-mask/anti-vaccine peanut gallery, I will explain things in a way they can understand. (Hopefully.) The protection provided by the mask for the wearer is limited. However, the protection provided to those around the wearer is very significant. Because many individuals who are infected with COVID-19 do not yet realize they are infected, this is important. Think of the mask like a pair of pants. If you are not wearing pants and you piss yourself, those around you are at risk of getting wet. If you ARE wearing pants and you piss yourself, the urine will get absorbed by the pants. Wearing a mask keeps your breath from spewing out all over the place. So please stop being so selfish, and wear a damn mask.
