Retired elementary teacher available to provide childcare/tutoring for children 2+ years of age. I enjoy doing projects of all kinds at home, (science, art, cooking, gardening, writing, Legos.) I feel that reading is very important, and have a personal library of hundreds of books that engage and delight children. I also think it's important for children to get plenty of exercise and social interaction by going to parks, playgrounds, or on neighborhood walks. If your child comes to my place at Burnside&Vista Avenue, there is a bus line that goes directly to the zoo, Rose Garden playground, and the trails of Forest Park. Two libraries are easily accessible. If your child is school age, I would be willing to supervise their online classes on their computer. I could provide hands-on activities that support and enrich their math, writing, reading lessons. I own a vehicle, and would be willing to travel and bring supplies to your home. But if you'd like me to transport your child on field trips to OMSI or other destinations, you would need to provide the vehicle/insurance. I would prefer to work 20-30 hours per week. Rates depend on number and age of children, location, and responsibilities; $10-20/hour. I've passed the background check to qualify for an Oregon Teaching License, have taken Red Cross First Aid Courses, and the Food Handler's Course.
