I'm starting a Children's Bookmobile in the City and I need some helpers. I'm planning to set up through the Shared Schoolyards program, which would locate me at an elementary school in the Bayview and Potrero districts. The plan is to give away books to children ages 3-12 and to increase the number of 100+ book homes for kids in SF.
I'm looking for helpers for Saturday afternoons - setup time will start at 12:30 and we'll offer books from 1-4. You can volunteer for 1 or more times/month. Once monthly would be great! I have things pretty well organized but I do need help with the lifting and then hanging out with the books and families. I'd love help sorting books too, as I continue to gather them from the wonderful Children's Book Project.
I hope to start this month and continue most Saturdays until we're lucky enough to get some rain. Can you join me? Maybe an SFUSD student and parent? I'll have masks and hand sanitizers to give away too! More details if you're interested.
