Description
Press release from the City of Rye: 09/03/2021 3:50 PM It is day two after Ida. Here's where we are from a City and utility services perspective. Our Police Department is paying extra attention to our hardest hit areas. DPW has done its regular Friday route (no recycling) and is starting on the massive cleanup of debris and damaged property moving to our curbs. DPW will continue this work on Saturday. Abandoned car removal is progressing. Restarting once-submerged cars can result in car fires. Professionals only, please! All streets and bridges are now open. There is a water main break apparent at Forest and Eve Lane. Suez is aware. Con Ed ha substantially reduced outages, with sporadic disruptions related to repair work. Con Ed has dry ice available until 8 p.m. (or until supply is exhausted) at the Mamaroneck Town parking lot at 1 Vine Street in Larchmont. Somehow it has gotten to be the Friday before Labor Day. There will be fireworks at Playland tonight and Sunday, and at certain of the clubs on Saturday. Many of us will be digging out, but I hope we can all find rest and joy in the long weekend.
